Men's Tennis Falls To Guilford in ODAC Quarterfinals
GREENSBORO – The Roanoke College men's tennis team fell in the ODAC Quarterfinals to Guilford College, 6-3 on Saturday.  The Maroons close the year with a record of 9-9, while the Quakers advance to the Semifinals with a record of 11-4.
 
The Maroons entered the ODAC Tournament, having won three of their last four matches.  The Maroons defeated Emory & Henry, Lynchburg and Randolph-Macon in the final surge for the ODAC Quarterfinals.  With that run, Roanoke became the #6 seed in the ODAC Tournament, leading them to face the Quakers of Guilford College, the #3 seed.
 
In doubles action, Jacob Morris and Matt Kessler defeated Turner Votipka and Erik Meiler 8-2 in the #1 position.  Joey Ross and Jose Alvarado topped Aaron Smedley and Trevor Cox in a tight 8-6 victory at #2 doubles. On the singles side, Matt Kessler played in the #2 spot.  Kessler defeated Trevor Cox 6-2, 6-4 for the lone singles win for the Maroons.
 
Emory & Henry advances to the ODAC Semifinals against #2 seed Virginia Wesleyan on May 2nd.  The ODAC Championship will be played on May 3rd at the higher seed.
