The Short Story: The Roanoke College men's tennis team secured a massive road victory against the Eagles on Friday.


  • The Maroons claimed a 3-0 lead through doubles action. Federico Maccari and Zach Kriebel cruised past Gabe Elder and Mark Gordon 8-1 at #1, Hardt Lesko and John-Henry Herrington held off Matthew Leonard and Noah Hughes 8-7 (7-4) at #2, and Julio Marques and Jackson Wagner swept Bryce Cline and Nicholas Arnold 8-0 at the #3 spot.
  • Victories in the top two singles flights clinched the match for Roanoke. Maccari dispatched Leonard 6-0, 7-6 (5) at #1, and Kriebel topped Gordon 6-2, 6-1 at #2.
  • The Eagles' solo point came at #3 singles, where Elder came from behind to beat Lesko 2-6, 6-3, 7-5.
  • The Maroons rounded out the match with three more singles wins: Marques defeated Cline 6-3, 6-1 at #4, Herrington bested Hughes 6-4, 6-2 at #5, and Lance Beheler recorded a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ryan Briggman at #6.
