Roanoke Sets Two School Records at Virginia Tech

Event: Virginia Tech Challenge

Location: Blacksburg, VA

The Lead: The Roanoke College track team took a group of men and women to compete at the Virginia Tech Challenge on Friday and Saturday. During the event, two (one men's and one women's) school records were eclipsed.

Highlights:

  • Xavier O'Brien finished fifth overall in the Men's 60mh with a new school record of 8.34 seconds. That time ranks him 26th in DIII and second in the ODAC 
  • Hannah Snodgrass set a new school record in the 60mh with a time of 8.97 seconds. That time puts her 21st nationally and second in the ODAC.
  • Samuel Crawford would have a season best in the Men's 200m dash crossing the line at 22.36 seconds.
  • Madina Sene posted a season best time in the Women's 400m dash going 1:03.95. 

Up Next: The Maroons will be the host for the 2022 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships this coming Saturday and Sunday, February 26-27.
