Xavier O'Brien named ODAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their men's and women's Indoor track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Xavier O'Brien was named Men's Track Athlete of the Week.

The Roanoke track & field team traveled to Blacksburg to compete at the Virginia Tech Challenge on Friday and Saturday. In the 60m Hurdle Prelims, O'Brien posted the fifth fastest time when he crossed the line in 8.34, setting a new Roanoke College school record and earning a spot in the finals. In the eight-man final, O'Brien repeated his 8.34 effort to finish fifth in a field of seven other NCAA DI hurdlers. His final time was .10 of a second faster than the school record that he set in 2021. This season, O'Brien currently has the 2nd fastest time int he ODAC and ranks 27th nationally.
