The Basics
Event: Dennis Craddock Coach Classic
Location: Lynchburg, Va.

The Lead: The Roanoke College men's and women's track teams made the trip to Lynchburg to compete in the two0day, Dennis Craddock Coach Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg this past Friday and Saturday. The Maroons posted 36 personal bests, won a pair of events, and would see three school records set at the meeting.

Women's Highlights:

  • Eleanor Hinckley finishes first in the 100m dash running 12.36 seconds in the prelims.  Hinckley would also finish second in the High Jump with a PR of 1.55m.
  • In the Shot-Put Grace Fowler would finish 2nd overall with a season best throw of 11.57m.  That distance is currently first in the ODAC.
  • In the women's Hammer Throw the Maroons would place second, third, and fourth in the event. Led by Elisabeth Cullen personal best of 43.27m. Fowler would finish next to Cullen with a third-place finish going 41.25m, followed by Abbey Gajtkowski going 41.18.
  • Hannah Snodgrass would finish third in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 14.90 seconds.
  • In the women's 400m hurdles, Lily Lippert would finish third overall crossing the line at 1:06.81.
  • Mikayla Hefferon would finish third in the 400m dash with a time of 58.95 seconds.  Haylee Gamble would finish right behind her with a personal best time of 59.16 seconds.
  • 4x100M team of Savannah Gheen, Hefferon, Snodgrass, and Hinkley would cross the line finishing third overall with a season best time of 49.17 seconds.
  • 4x400M relay team of Gamble, Lippert, Hinckley, and Hannah Koepfinger would finish first with a time of 4:16.60.

Men's Highlights:

  • Brady Fowler finished second overall in the 100m dash running 10.51 seconds in the prelims and lowering his school record time in the event.  That time puts him 5th in NCAA DIII Standings.
  • Samuel Crawford would tie the school record and finish second overall in the 200m dash crossing the line at 21.50 seconds. His time currently puts him 17th in the NCAA DIII Standings.
  • The 4x100m relay team of Xavier O'Brien, Blake Morin, Brandon Justice, and Fowler finished 2nd overall with a school record time of 41.87. 
  • Cooper Neeble would finish second while posting a season best time of 9:53.42 in the 3k Steeple Chase. 
  • O'Brien would post a top three finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.47 seconds. 
  • Miles Enstrom and Edward Rygalski both finish 3rd and 4th in the Pole Vault, clearing 3.80m
  • 4x400m relay of Crawford, Cameron Harris, O'Brien, and Hunter Bohon finish 3rd overall with a season best time of 3:24.83.

Up Next: The Maroons will travel to Greensboro (N.C.) to compete at the Aggie Classic hosted by North Carolina A&T next weekend.
