The Lead: The Roanoke men's volleyball team wrapped up their first season with a 3-0 loss to No. 14 Rutgers-Newark on Saturday afternoon. 

• The Maroons kept the first set close early on, trailing by just one at 11-10. The Scarlet Raiders would use a string of three-point runs to extend their lead to 22-12 before the teams traded points with R-N taking set one 25-15.
• Most of the second set was much closer for longer than the first. Kills by Connor Tyson and Cade Kinne brought the Maroons back within three at 17-14 before the teams once again traded points, this time in pairs of two with the Scarlet Raiders taking the final two, 25-19.
• Roanoke was behind by just one at 7-6 before a 9-2 run extended R-N lead with them winning four of the final five points to claim a 25-16 set three win and the match 3-0.
• Michael Cummins led the Maroons with eight kills while Leo Houser dished out a team-high 18 assists. Kaeden Noble got down for 10 digs to lead Roanoke.
