The Short Story: The Roanoke College men's cross country team won its second consecutive meet with a dominating performance at the 2022 Rooney Invitational at Greenhill Park in Salem. The women's cross country team finished fourth in the women's race. Both meets featured NCAA Division II, Division III, and NAIA competition. Both courses were set to a 5k distance.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Josh Fretwell finished third (16:52.2) and Matt Garis finished fourth (16:58.3) to lead the men's team to the meet win.
• Chamberlain Zulauf (17:33.6) finished seventh while Robert Birdsall also finished in the top 10 with a ninth place time (17:39.7)
• Lauren Brown was the top women's finisher for the Maroons, finishing sixth in a time of 21:45

• Roanoke will be off from competition for two weeks until it travels to Winchester for the Hornet Harrier Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University.
