Newcomer Abigail Rexrode (Fincastle, VA, James River)was named ODAC Pitcher of the Week announced this evening. It is the third Maroon to garner the weekly honor in as many weeks.

 

A transfer from Virginia Tech, Rexrode went 2-0 with two saves and didn't allow a run in 12.2 innings last week. She pitched a complete game shutout performance in an 8-0 victory over Virginia-Wise last Sunday.

 

On the season, she has posted a 1.85 ERA with a 4-1 record in 10 appearances, making four starts. The James River product has two complete games, two shutouts and two combined shutout performances. Rexrode has also totaled 23 strikeouts in 34 innings of work this spring.

 

The Maroons are currently 17-2 overall, 1-1 in the ODAC. They will travel to both Virginia Wesleyan and Randolph-Macon this weekend in a crucial ODAC doubleheaders. Both games are scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
