EMORY, Va. --- Roanoke swept Emory & Henry on the road to close the regular season on Tuesday afternoon. The Maroons go into the ODAC Tournament with a 30-7 mark, 13-5 in ODAC play. The Wasps end their season with a 3-25 record.

The Maroons, which finished with a 15-4 record on the road this season, scored a school-record 27 runs in the 27-3 game one win over the Wasps. They completed the sweep with a 17-1 victory in the twin bill. With the win, Roanoke now owns a 34-2 series advantage over Emory & Henry.

The sweep also gave the softball program its first 30-win season since the 2006 season. It's the ninth 30-win season in school-history.

The Maroons had second-inning magic again, scoring six runs, but it was the 11-run fourth inning that sealed the 17-1 win in five innings in game two. Kelsey Ruitenberg (Geneva, IL, Geneva) (8-2) earned the win, going three innings with one run allowed and four strikeouts. Lis Norwich (Hegins, PA, Tri-Valley)came in the final two innings, striking out four with no runs allowed.
