Layman was the only player in conference history to have been named a three-time Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Year. She led the Maroons to four-straight conference championships, four consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, which included back-to-back trips to the NCAA Division III Softball World Series in 2000 and 2001. Holly Morris '01

Morris was twice named to the Second Team NFCA All-American team, the only player in program history to do so. While attending Roanoke, Morris started in all 179 games played and had 585 at bats. Morris currently holds school records in batting average, on-base percentage, hits, triples, RBIs, and total bases. Morris also received four First-Team All-ODAC selections.

Her school and ODAC records for the 3000 meter outdoors, 5000 meter indoors and outdoors may never be broken. Smith placed second at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in 2001 as a senior with a time of 17:06. In the 2001 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, she became the school's first national champion since 1978, winning the 10,000 meters.  Smith has continued to run after college.
