NEWPORT NEWS - Roanoke College will play in the regional championship game of the 2012 NCAA DIII Softball Tournament, today at 10:00 AM.  The game will be available for viewing in the Hall of Fame room at the Bast Center.

Roanoke takes on Christopher Newport again, who came out of the consolation bracket finals to earn another shot at the title.  Nick DeSancits and Richmond Bramblet will call the action live from Captain's Stadium in Newport News.  

This is the first time that the Maroons have reached the regional title game since 2006.  If the Maroons lose the 10:00 AM game today, they will turn around and play Christopher Newport again at Noon in the final game of the tournament.  That game will also be available in the Hall of Fame room.

The Maroons have defeated two top teams over their last two contests in the NCAA Tournament to get to the title game.  On Friday, Roanoke posted a come from behind win to knock off the #1 ranked Emory University 4-2.  Yesterday, the Maroons rallied in the seventh inning to take down #10 ranked Christopher Newport.
