Kelly Higbie has been named to the 2015 VaSID All-State Second Team. This is her second time receiving the honor as she was named to the VaSID All-State First Team in 2012. She is the first player since Leona Rainey (First Team) and Alea Bier (Second Team) garnered the honor in 2013. A player from Roanoke has been named to one of the VaSID All-State teams in all but three years since the program's inception in 1997.

The senior from Midlothian, VA had picked up her third All-ODAC nod after the regular season ended in April. She was named First Team All-ODAC this past season, Second Team All-ODAC in 2013, and First Team All-ODAC in 2012. Higbie was among one of the top pitchers in the ODAC this season. She ranked first in the conference in appearances (28) and starts (24). She also finished second in complete games (17) and innings pitched (146.1). Lastly, she stood in the top-five in the ODAC in wins (3rd 14), shutouts (3rd - 6) and strikeouts (4th - 87).

Higbie closes the door on an outstanding career at Roanoke College. Over her career at RC, she ranks in the top-five in 10 different career categories, including being the all-time leader in appearances (129), starts (110), complete games (87), innings pitched (705.2) and strikeouts (383). In single season records, her name is listed 22 times in the top-five over nine different categories.

Roanoke's 15 wins in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference ties the best win total (2013) in the past eight seasons. The Maroons got off to a rough start in the beginning of the season, playing tough, nationally ranked teams. However, the Maroons bounced back in the second half of the season, closing the regular season winning 12 of its final 14 games.
