Lynchburg, Va.  – Roanoke College softball standout Katie Smith has been named second-team all-state by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).

Smith was named second-team all-league in the outfield after a season in which she played in 40 games and hit .368 which ranked 19^th best in the ODAC, while her .431 average against league opponents was eighth highest. She also had 29 RBI and recorded 43 hits on the season. She had finished with a .460 on-base percentage for the season, including a .540 clip against ODAC foes.
