2014-15 Top Moments #7: Higbie's collegiate softball career comes full circle
Kelly Higbie has had a historic collegiate softball career; she has been an asset to the Maroons since game one of her freshman year where she started in the circle. Higbie finished her career on the mound during the 2015 ODAC Tournament against Emory & Henry.

Over her career at Roanoke College, Higbie ranks in the top-five all-time in 10 different categories, including ranking first in appearances (129), starts (110), complete games (87), innings pitched (705.2) and strikeouts (383). In single season records, her name is listed 22 times in the top-five over nine different categories.

As a freshman, Higbie received many ODAC and All-State honors. She was named First Team All-ODAC and ODAC Rookie of the Year, All-Region, VaSID All-State First Team and VaSID Rookie of the Year, Most Outstanding Player of the ODAC Tournament and of the NCAA Division III Newport News Regional Tournament. As a sophomore, Higbie was named Second Team All-ODAC.

During the 2015 Season, Higbie received First Team All-ODAC and VaSID All-State Second Team. Higbie set her career Roanoke College career record in strikeouts with against Virginia Wesleyan where she recorded five that game. She also had 14 strikeouts in one game against Sweet Briar, which is a Roanoke College record as well.

In addition to her accolades, Kelly Higbie was awarded the Roanoke College Female Athlete of the Year for 2014-2015 at the senior athlete awards banquet.
