RC named one of 62 teams in the NCAA softball field

The NCAA Softball National Championship Tournament bids went out on Monday afternoon and the Roanoke college softball team is back in the tournament field for the first time since 2013. The Maroons finished the season with a 30-12 record includig a trip to the ODAC Tournament Championship game where they fell to Virginia Wesleyan, 1-0.
Roanoke was selected as one of the 19 at-large selections to the 62-team field. The Maroons will make the trip to Cleveland (Ohio) to face Concordia (Wisconsin) in a Regional that will be hosted by Case Western Reserve. The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) will round out the four-team event that is scheduled for May 13-15.
