Roanoke Womenâ??s Basketball Ranked #4 in South Region

Salem, VA --- The Roanoke College women's basketball team is ranked fourth in the NCAA Division III South Region basketball poll for the second-straight week.  The women boast a 21-2 overall mark and is atop the ODAC Standings with a 16-2 conference record. 
 
Roanoke, who is off to their best season since 1996-97, are 19-2 against South Regional opponents and currently riding a 13-game win-streak. The women are ranked nationally in scoring defense (9th), assist-turnover ratio (7th) and 20th in scoring margin.
 
The Maroons are led by Caitlyn Long and Jordan Gholson who both average in double figures. Long is averaging 11.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while Gholson averages 10.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. She also has 49 blocks on the season, which is a new single-season mark at Roanoke.
 
Senior guard Erin Jenkins averages 9.7 ppg and has made 42 three-pointers this season in addition to averaging 5.3 boards per game. Junior guard Jaleesa Osborne leads the team in free throw percentage (.820), assists (84) and steals (60) while averaging 9.9 points per game.
 
The Maroons will host ODAC-foe Washington & Lee on Friday, Feb. 20 at the Bast Center. Roanoke will honor its graduating senior class which includes, Jenkins, Virginia Anne Hagood, andMarcy Conner. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
