Mary Washington Cruises to 75-41 win over Roanoke
ASHLAND --- University of Mary Washington cruised past Roanoke, 75-41 in the Randolph-Macon College Tip-off Tournament on Friday in Ashland. The Eagles improve to 2-0 on the year while the Maroons fell to 0-2 on the young season.

The Eagles, who received 19 votes in the D3Hoops.com Pre-Season Poll, raced out to a 40-14 lead at halftime, and never looked back, handing the Maroons their third-straight loss dating back to last season. UMW shot 29-60 from the floor (48%), while limiting Roanoke to 11 field goals and 22% shooting. The Eagles won the rebounding battle, 41-31.

Roanoke was led by Paxton Gwin for the second-straight game with 14 points and six rebounds.  Rachel Dellehunt totaled seven points, including 5-of-6 from the charity stripe and four boards.
Katie Wimmer led all scorers with 17 points, hitting 6-of-11 from the floor and connecting on all four free-throw attempts.  Jenna McRae tossed in 11 for the Eagles.

The women return to action on Saturday, Nov. 19 as they take on Christopher Newport to conclude the tip-off tournament weekend.  The Captains, who defeated Randolph-Macon last night, have 90 votes in the pre-season national poll.   The Yellow Jackets were picked as the favorite to win the ODAC this winter.  The Maroons last game against CNU was during the second round of the 2010 NCAA Div. III Tournament.
