Roanoke jumped out to an early 14-6 lead as five different Maroons scored in the opening moments of the game.  Emory & Henry tried early to get on the board, forcing three-pointers early that just wouldn't fall.  They found their rhythm down low however and hit a couple of lay-ups to bring the score back with in two 14-12.

Around the nine minute mark, the Wasps got hot behind the arc and drained threes on four consecutive possessions, keeping up with the Maroons to a 28-28 tie.  Roanoke's Meghan Gadell answered around the 5:00 mark with a three of her own, to start a run that would give the Maroons a seven point lead, 37-30. E&H's Carlyta Hamm put in a layup to start a run for the visitors that would extend to the half.  The Wasps would enter the locker room ahead by two, 40-38.

The two teams battled back and forth to the 6:32 mark where Langley tied the game for E&H at 60-60.  That would be the last tie of the game as the Maroons pulled away from the Wasps.  From that point forward, Roanoke outscored Emory & Henry 22-8.  That allowed the Maroons to pick up their first win of the season, both overall and in the ODAC, 82-68.

Paxton Gwin led the team with 17 points to go with her seven rebounds.  Two other Maroons fell in the double digit scoring category as Laurel Hankins registered career-highs in points (14) and rebounds (6).  Other Players earning career highs were Rachel Dellehunt (13 points, 8 rebounds) and Taylor Duggins (7 rebounds, 3 assists).
