The Basics

Records: Roanoke 10-10, 6-6 ODAC, Shenandoah 6-15, 3-9 ODAC

The Lead: Roanoke was able to halt Shenandoah's late game comeback to improve to 10-10 overall and 6-6 in the ODAC.

How it Happened:
  • After Shenandoah made four three-pointers in the first period, Jamella Foster sunk a layup with just seconds to go to close the gap to 22-16 in Shenandoah's favor heading into the second period.
  • With 0:23 to go in the second period, Cary Beahm hit a jump shot to narrow the Shenandoah lead and send RC only down by two into the intermission down 37-35.
  • Neither team was able to gain an advantage in the third period as Roanoke took a 51-49 lead heading into the final stanza.
  • At the 7:25 mark another Beahm two-point shot capped a 10-2 run that would give RC its biggest lead of the day at 61-51.
  • With one second left, Foster made her first free-throw attempt to make the score 68-66. She then missed her next attempt, but was able to grab her own rebound to give the Maroons the win.
  • Beahm had a team-high 18 points and six rebounds. Bridget Holleran had 14 points of her own and also dished out four assists and Foster pitched in with 13 points coming off the bench.
  • Roanoke shot 53.7% from the field on 29-of-54 shooting and out trebounded Shenandoah by a margin of 36-26
  • Kirstyn Arcata led the way for Shenandoah with 19 points that included five three-pointers.
