The Lead: Women's Basketball rolls past Hollins by a margin of 71-36 in its second-to-last game of the regular season.
How it Happened:
- RC shot 45.9% from the field on 28-of-61 shooting and assisted on 22 of those baskets. The Maroons also outrebounded Hollins by a 44-35 margin.
- Cary Beahm just missed out on a double-double by scoring 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field and grabbing nine rebounds. Bridget Holleran also finished in double-figures with 13 points and also dished out six asssists
- Roanoke came out firing to start the game, scoring the first nine points, and taking a 9-0 lead on a Beahm bucket and RC would eventually take a 17-6 lead on a Jamella Foster jumper.
- The Maroons led 17-8 after the first 10 minutes. Hollins would cut its deficit to 17-14 before RC reeled off 13 unanswered points, bumping its lead to 30-14 on a Holleran jumper with 4:07 to go in the half.
- A mid-range jumper in the paint by Holleran with 3:05 to go in the third period would cap off a 13-2 run by the Maroons that would help extend its lead to 53-26 going into the final period.
- RC would outscore Hollins 18-10 in the final period to close out the game and win by a score of 71-36.
