Beahm Named CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American

Salem, Va. – Roanoke College Women's Basketball standout Cary Beahm has been named a CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American announced the organization on Tuesday.

­­The award comes on the heels of Beahm being name the ODAC's Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year last week.

Beahm, a Dendron, Va. native, maintains a 3.97 grade point average with Criminal Justice and Sociology majors and a minor in Psychology. A 2016 Third Team Academic All-American, she is in line for a second such honor after earning a spot on the 2017 Academic All-District Team.

She is a perennial member of the Roanoke College Dean's List and President's List of Distinguished Students. She is a member of several national honor societies including Omicron Delta Kappa (leadership), National Honor Society of Leadership and Success, and those associated with her areas of study.

On the court, Beahm earned spot on the All-ODAC Second Team this season, combining that with a first team award in 2016. She is second in the ODAC in scoring at 19.8 points per game, having made 194 field goals, which tops the ODAC charts. She is second in rebounding at 9.2 boards per game, and fifth in field goal shooting at 50.3 percent.
