The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced the 2022 Women's Basketball all conference teams on Wednesday afternoon. With the start of the ODAC Women's Basketball Tournament just two days away, a pair of Maroons were honored for their work during the regular season. Renee Alquiza and Kristina Harrel were each named to the All ODAC teams after receiving the same honor one season ago.
Alquiza was named to the All ODAC 1st team for the first time. The senior averaged 10.7 points per game but upped her average to 12.4 during conference play. Alquiza registered one of the most efficient seasons in the conference, shooting 47.5% from the field and 85.7% from the free throw line. From long range, her 48.3% from the three-point line was tops in league. In conference play, Renee was even better, shooting 50.3% from the field and 53.8% from the 3-point line.
Harrel was named all ODAC for the third consecutive season. The senior was named to the 3rd team in 2020 and moves up to the All ODAC 2nd team this season. Harrel finished the year as the Maroon's leading scorer, putting up 10.9 points per game on 55.2% shooting, 2nd in the ODAC. In conference play, Harrel's 81.1% free throw percentage was 4th in the league among qualifying players. Earlier this season, Harrel eclipsed the 1,000 point total for her career.
