SALEM - The Roanoke Women's Lacrosse allowed just one goal in their 21-1 victory over Randolph-Macon on Sunday, March 25th. The Maroons now sit at 3-4, 2-1 in ODAC play, while Randolph-Macon falls to 4-3, 1-1 ODAC.

Roanoke jumped out to an early lead with Allison Bonanno scoring in just the first 55 seconds of the contest. The Maroons would put seven more goals on the board between that goal and the Yellow Jacket's only goal of the game. In that time period, Bonanno scored one, Jamie Golden scored three goals, Kathleen Wager netted two, and Darragh Everts found the back of the net as well.

Randolph-Macon jumped on the board with 10:44 to play in the first half as Betsy Herbert scored off a free position shot. Roanoke rattled off five more goals by the end of the half, including another goal from Wager with just 16 seconds to play in the period to put the team up 13-1 at half.

Roanoke picked up where it left off in the first period, as Everts scored just inside the first minute of play. The Maroons would find the back of the net seven more times through the end of the game, giving the Maroons the 21-1 win.

Roanoke out shot Randolph-Macon 37-6 during the contest and led in the ground ball category, 25-8. The Yellow Jackets also had more turnovers than the Maroons with a tally of 26-17

Wager led the Maroons with five goals to go with her three assists on the afternoon. Bonanno was just behind Wager with four goals and a team-high five assists. Jamie Golden finished with three goals, while Rosie Knisley, Darragh Evarts, and Elizabeth Narwicz each tallied two.

Lauren Curtin was credited with the win for the Maroons playing only the first half. She gave up one goal and tallied three saves. Laura Zdziarski and Cristina Schichilone also saw action during the second half of play.

The Maroons return to action on Wednesday, March 28th as they play host to Lynchburg College at Donald J. Kerr Stadium. That contest is slated for a 4:00 PM start.
