Bonanno Scores Seven in Maroons Loss To Lynchburg, 15-12
SALEM - Allison Bonanno found the back of the net seven times in Roanoke College's loss to Lynchburg College, 15-12 on Wednesday. The Maroons fall to 4-5, 2-2 ODAC, while Lynchburg moves up to 5-3 and 3-0 in ODAC play.

Roanoke jumped on the board early as Allison Bonanno found the back of the net just 1:20 in to the first half. Lynchburg responded with a goal of it's own just two minutes later to tie the game. The Maroons then proceeded to rattle off three consecutive goals over the next three minutes. These goals came from Bonanno, Jamie Golden, and Kathleen Wager.

Lynchburg followed with a drive of four consecutive goals through the 17:00 minute mark, taking a 5-4 lead. Roanoke and Lynchburg exchanged the next three goals, seeing two ties, until the Hornets took the ultimate lead with 3:26 to play in the first stanza. At the 1:37 mark, Lynchburg had built a 9-7 lead. The Maroons snuck one in before the half concluded, as Bonanno scored with :19 to play.

The Hornets continued to score right off the bat in the second, as Bri Slate netted a goal in just 26 seconds to start the half. Lynchburg would score once more before the Roanoke would get on the board again, when Bonanno netted a goal at the 21 minute mark to bring the Maroons within two, 11-9.

However, Lynchburg rolled off three consecutive goals to extend the lead to five, 14-9. Bonanno and Elizabeth Hartge, each tallied a goal to cut the deficit back to three 14-11 with five minutes to play. Lynchburg spent the remainder of the time playing a possession game, with each team only scoring one more goal, leading Lynchburg to a win with a score of 15-12.

Bonanno led the Maroons with seven goals to go with one assist. She took 11 shots, nine of which were on goal. Five other maroons finished with one goal each: Jamie Golden, Elizabeth Narwicz, Darragh Evarts, Elizabeth Hartge and Kathleen Wager. Wager led the team in assists with two and groundballs with five.

The Maroons return to action on Saturday, March 31st as they play host to Guilford College. That contest is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM
