Maroons' Win Streak Reaches Four in Victory Over Berry
SALEM, Va. --- Roanoke women's lacrosse extended its winning streak to four straight as the Maroons topped Berry College, 23-6, on Senior Day in Kerr Stadium. RC improves to 8-5 on the season while the Vikings fall to 8-5-1.

Freshman Allison Bonanno's 10-point day powered a Roanoke attack that scored 11 unanswered goals spanning both halves to break a previously tight contest in the early going. She had plenty of help as classmate Darragh Evarts and juniors Jamie Golden and Kathleen Wager combined for 12 goals and 17 total points to help the Maroons to their second 20-plus goal output in the last three games.

It was Berry that opened the game's scoring as Jenny Miller notched the first of her five goals at 26:06 of the first half. Evarts leveled the game at 1-1, but Miller tallied twice more to give the Vikings a 3-1 edge with 22:13 on the clock.

Roanoke was quick to flip its deficit on its head as Evarts beat BC's keeper twice followed by goals from Wager and Bonanno to give RC a 5-3 lead with 12:34 to go.

Miller notched her fourth of the half to pull Berry to within one at 9:56, but that would be the final goal BC would score until eight minutes into the second half as Bonanno kicked off an 11-goal run with her second goal at 9:28. Roanoke would add seven more goals before the intermission to head into the locker room ahead, 13-4.

Golden, senior Elizabeth Hartge and Evarts added three quick tallies for RC out of the break before Berry's Kaylee Lane was able to stop the Maroons' streak with 21:59 on the second half clock and Roanoke leading, 16-5.

Hartge jumpstarted a five-goal spurt as the Maroons broadened their lead to 21-5 with 8:05 to play. Miller recorded her fifth and final goal of the game with 6:37 to play, and Roanoke added goals from seniors Katherine Muhvich and Elizabeth Narwicz to provide the game's final margin.

Bonanno led Roanoke with 10 points on four goals and six assists. Evarts scored five times and dished out a pair of helpers. She also controlled a game-high eight draws. Wager snared seven draws in addition to four goals and two assists. Wager also had a team-best five groundballs. Golden found the net three times and passed out an assist.

Hartge and Muhvich each tallied twice, while Narwicz scored once and collected a pair of assists. Sophomore Morgan Conroy had a goal and an assist, and junior Rosie Knisely chipped in one tally. Senior Cristina Scichilone put in 60 minutes between the pipes and made two saves.

Berry's Miller tied for game-high honors with five goals, and she did so on just five shots. Lane had the other Vikings' tally. Kristan Dziurzyn had two assists. Alex Garza collected a team-best seven groundballs. Goalkeeper Taylor Martin turned away 23 shots.

Roanoke is back in action on Wednesday, April 18 as the Maroons make the trip to Bridgewater College for an ODAC contest. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. in Bridgewater.
