Women's Lacrosse Falls to Shenandoah 14-11 in ODAC Play
WINCHESTER - The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team fell in ODAC action to Shenandoah University, 14-11 on Sunday. The Maroons now have a record of 3-5; 2-1 in ODAC play, while the Hornets are 6-1; 3-0 in the ODAC.

Shenandoah got off to a hot start, scoring three goals in the first seven minutes of the game. Samantha Sisson had two of the Hornets' first three goals. Jamie Golden scored the Maroons' first goal at 22:24 to pull within two, 3-1. Shenandoah scored one more goal, before Roanoke tallied four consecutive goals to take a 5-4 lead. In the Maroons' run, Kathleen Wager scored two goals while Darragh Evarts and Golden had one each. The Hornets capped off the half with two goals, one from Corrinne Kosmowski and one from Sisson to take the 6-5 lead after 30 minutes.

The Hornets extended their lead to four, 9-5 after scoring the first three goals of the second half. The Maroons responded with a goal from Allison Bonanno and Golden, pulling within two, 9-7. Shenandoah's Miranda Rudacille scored with 16:24 on the clock to go up by three 10-7. Roanoke rattled off three straight goals from Evarts and Wager to tie the game at 10-10 with 9:30 to play. However, the Hornets outscored Roanoke 4-1 over the final nine minutes to win the ODAC contest 14-11.

Darragh Evarts led the Maroons in scoring, netting four goals in the contest. Allison Bonanno led the team in points, as she scored one goal and dished out four assists. Jamie Golden and Kathleen Wager each finished with three goals. Lauren Curtin played all 60 minutes between the pipes, making four saves on the afternoon.

Samantha Sisson led all players in the game, scoring six goals for the Hornets. She was followed by Amy Rollins with three goals, along with Corrinne Kosmowski and Miranda Rudacille with two goals each. Ashley Cross picked up the win in goal, tallying 11 saves.

Roanoke led the contest in shots (27-23), draw controls (15-12), and had one less turnover (16-17). The Hornets led in ground balls, 19-18.

The Maroons return to action on Wednesday, March 27th as they play host to Hollins University. That contest is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
