Thirteen Maroons Score in Roanoke's 22-1 Victory over Hollins
SALEM - Thirteen different players scored in the Roanoke College women's lacrosse 22-1 victory over Hollins University on Wednesday. The Maroons now have a record of 4-5; 3-1 ODAC, while Hollins now has a mark of 1-6; 0-4 in the ODAC.

The Maroons put three goals up on the board early, netting those goals in the first 1:17. Rosie Knisley, Darragh Evarts and Kathleen Wager scored the first three goals, two of which were assisted by Allison Bonanno. At the 26:17 mark, Jessie Deese picked up a ground ball and ran the length of the field to score Hollins' lone goal of the contest. Through the first half, Roanoke scored 15 goals. Rosie Knisley netted three goals during the first 30 minutes, while Jamie Golden tallied four. Also scoring goals for the Maroons during the period were Morgan Conroy (3), Nicole Zelnik, and Broghan McEnerney.

The second half proved to be just as successful for the Maroons as the first half had been. McEnerney netted the first goal for the Maroons just three minutes into the period. Following suit, Carley Sturges, Briana Storey, Tyler Redmond, Katie Gehrdes, Stephanie Vogel and Kyra Sichelstiel all scored in the second half. As time expired, Roanoke defeated Hollins 22-1.

Jamie Golden led the Maroons in scoring with four goals on four shots in the evening. She also finished second on the team in ground balls with six. Rose Knisley led the team in points, with three goals and five assists. She also had a team high nine ground balls. Allison Bonanno finished with four assists and a team-high seven draw controls. Lauren Curtin picked up the victory, while Allison Shannon and Laura Zdziarski also played significant time in goal.

Jessie Deese scored Hollins' lone goal of the night, off of one shot. She also had a team-high three ground balls. Corinne Nicholson and Kelly Maxey had two ground balls each. Corrine Nicholson played all 60 minutes in net and tallied nine saves.

The Maroons led in nearly every statistical category during the game including shots (40-1), ground balls (33-12), draw controls (21-4), and free position goals (4-0).

The Maroons return to action on Saturday, March 30th as they travel to Ashland to take on Randolph-Macon College in ODAC action. That contest is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start time.
