Seven Women's Lacrosse Players Earn Postseason Honors
SALEM - The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team placed seven players on the 2013 Women's Lacrosse All-ODAC Teams, announced earlier this week. Allison Bonanno and Darragh Evarts earned First Team honors, Jamie Golden, Kathleen Wager and Stephanie Vogel were named Second Team, while Rosie Knisley and Katie Gehrdes were tabbed Third Team.

Allison Bonanno and Darragh Evarts were also named to the IWLCA 2013 Chesapeake Region First Team. Evarts was also announced as an 2013 IWLCA Third Team All-American on Thursday.

First-Team All-ODAC & IWLCA 2013 Chesapeake Region First Team
Allison Bonanno
Bonanno picked up her second consecutive IWLCA All-Chesapeake Region selection, as well as her second First Team All-ODAC nod. The Ridgewood, NJ junior led the ODAC in assists with 69, 30 more than the second place student-athlete. She set an ODAC record for assists in a game, dishing out 12 in Roanoke's 21-11 win over Randolph-Macon in the end of March. She also ranked third in the conference in total points, putting together 106 over the 2013 campaign. As a junior, Bonanno Ranks first all-time in career assists with 147, as well as fifth in points with 258. She finished the season with 20 ground balls and 32 draw controls.

Darragh Evarts
As just a sophomore, Darragh Evarts picks up her first IWLCA All-Chesapeake Region nod, as well as her second First Team All-ODAC award. Also it was just announced that Evarts was named a 2013 IWLCA Third Team All-American. The 2012 ODAC Rookie of the Year ranked second on the Maroons in total points with 88. She led the Maroons in scoring with 71 goals, a mark that placed her third in the ODAC, just one shy of second. She finished the season with 104 draw controls, giving her 165 in two years, ranking third all-time at Roanoke. She also finished the season with a team-high five game winning goals and 40 ground balls, and 22 caused turnovers.

Second Team All-ODAC
Jamie Golden
Golden, a senior from Timonium, MD, picked up Second Team All-ODAC honors in 2013. She finished the season with 54 total points, tallying 47 goals and seven assists. Golden was ranked seventh in the ODAC in goals and ninth in the conference in points. She ranked second on the team in ground balls with 35 and pulled down 19 draw controls. Her 78 shots on goal ranked fifth among the players in the ODAC.

Kathleen Wager
Wager, a senior from Lexington, VA, was named All-ODAC for the third time in her career. She ranked fourth on the Maroons in total points, tallying 50 with 39 goals and 11 assists. Wager finished the season with 46 draw controls and 56 shots on goal. She finishes her career at Roanoke ranked second in shots on goal (230) and draw controls (166).


Stephanie Vogel
Vogel, the senior from Wayne, NJ, picks up her first All-ODAC nod in 2013. The Maroon defender finished the season with 13 ground balls and three forced turnovers. She also gathered three draw controls. On March 27th, Vogel scored her first career goal at Roanoke, in the Maroons' 22-1 victory over Hollins University.


Third Team All-ODAC
Rosie Knisley
Knisley, a senior from Columbus, Ohio, was named to the All-ODAC Third Team. She finished the season with 38 total points on the season. She ranked second on the team in assists with 19, while also finding the back of the net 19 times. Knisley netted one game winning goal on April, 20th in Roanoke's 23-12 victory over Randolph College. She also ranked fourth on the squad in ground balls with 31 pick-ups.

Katie Gehrdes
Gehrdes, the freshman defender from Annapolis, MD, picked up her first All-ODAC award in 2013. She finished the season with 33 ground balls, which ranked third on the team. She also tallied 11 draw controls and nine forced turnovers. She scored her first career goal on March 27th against Hollins University.
