Women's Lacrosse Drops ODAC Contest to Guilford, 15-10
SALEM – The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team fell in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action to Guilford College on Wednesday evening, 15-10. The Maroons now have a record of 6-6, 3-1 in the ODAC, while the Quakers improve to 7-3, 5-0 in ODAC play.

While the Quakers have won the last two meetings between these teams, the Maroons hold a series record of 30-2 over Guilford College, dating back to 1984.

Roanoke jumped out to a roaring 3-0 lead in the first seven minutes of the game. Darragh Evarts scored two of the Maroons' goals from free position shots, while Allison Bonanno netted an unassisted goal at 25:11. Guilford responded with three straight goals of their own, starting at the 19:49 mark. Becca Colley scored an unassisted goal for Guilford's first of the game. E'leyna Garcia then scored off of a free position shot, then followed by assisting in the next goal by Eleanora Keene.

Roanoke went on to score the next two goals, one each from Claire Feeney and Evarts, pulling back ahead 5-3. The Quakers scored two more through the 4:09 mark, tying the game until Evarts potted her fourth with 2:12 to play. Garcia knotted the game up at 6-6 entering halftime, scoring a goal with 1:11 to play in the half.

Garcia came out of the half scoring the first two goals for Guilford in the second frame, both unassisted. Colley scored one more for the Quakers as they took a 9-6 lead in the first six minutes of the second half. Roanoke's Evarts and Feeney each found the back of the net over the next two minutes, pulling the Maroons back within two, 9-8. But Guilford stretched out the advantage over the next nine minutes, scoring four unanswered goals to take a 13-8 lead. Feeney scored with 9:39 to play off of a pass from Bonanno. The Maroons only found the goal once more in the second half as Evarts scored on a free position shot with 25 seconds to play. The Maroons took their first ODAC loss of the season to Guilford College, 15-10.

The Maroons were led in scoring by Darragh Evarts, who netted six goals on the night. Claire Feeney followed Evarts with three goals, while Bonanno netted Roanoke's 10th and final goal. Feeney and Bonanno also notched the team's two assists for the game. Feeney and Evarts led the team in draw controls as well, picking up four each. Lauren Curtin was tabbed with the loss, playing 47 minutes, making 11 saves on the night.

E'leyna Garcia led the Quakers in scoring, netting six to tie Evarts for the contest. She also had the team's two assists. Eleanora Keane led the team in draw controls with five, while Becca Colley tallied eight ground balls. Sammi Milbourn played all 60 minutes in goal, tallying 15 saves.

The Maroons return to action on Saturday, April 5th as they host Shenandoah University at 5:00 PM at Kerr Stadium.
