Samantha Hurley Named New Women's Lacrosse Assistant Coach

SALEM – The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team announces the newest assistant coach to join the staff, Samantha Hurley.

Hurley is a 2013 graduate of Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, where she was a four year women's lacrosse player.  During her time at Lock Haven University, she was a member of the Student-Athlete honor roll, as well as a member of the Lock Haven Strength Training and Condition Club.  Over the past year, Hurley has worked both as a sports performance coach and strength and conditioning intern.

"I am very excited to have Samantha as an assistant this year," said Roanoke women's lacrosse coach Mary Schwartz.  "Samantha will bring much excitement and a fresh outlook for our team."

Hurley joins Schwartz, who is entering her 10th season at the helm of the Roanoke women's lacrosse team.  In 2013, the Maroons went 8-2 in ODAC play which included a win over Washington and Lee that took three overtime periods.  It was also Roanoke's first win over the Generals since May 6, 2009.  Schwartz is also just three wins away from her 100th win as head coach of the Maroons.
