The Lead: Meredith outlasted Roanoke in a game that saw a combined 44 goals as MC came away with a 27-17 win over RC.

How it Happened:

• Roanoke was led by Nicole Zelnik who had six goals to go along with an assist. Claire Feeney had five goals, while Meredith Bigelow had four goals, three assists, three groundballs and nine draw controls.
• Meredith jumped out to a 7-2 lead before back-to-back goals by Bigelow and Zelnik cut it to 7-4.
• With the score 9-4, Roanoke rallied by scoring the next four goals, capped by a Zelnik strike to make it 9-8.
• Meredith would close the half of a 10-1 run and take a 19-9 lead into the locker room at the break.
• RC would open the second-half with a 4-1 with a Bigelow goal making it 20-13, but Meredith the next two goals to seal the win.
