The Lead: Roanoke used a 10 goal second-half to break open a tight game at half-time and go on to a 16-5 win over Shenandoah on Saturday.
 
How it Happened
- After Allison Beames made it 2-1 with 25:15 to play in the first-half, SU scored a pair of goals in less than two minutes to go up 3-2.
- A Nicole Zelnik strike with just under 19 minutes to go tied the game at 3-3 and sparked what proved to be a 4-1 run for RC to take a 6-4 lead into halftime.
- Courtney McCartin scored two minutes into the second stanza which proved to be the first of five answered goals with a Jenn Schwechheimer goal making it 11-4 with 19 minutes to play.
- RC held a 29-21 lead in shots and converted 12-of-17 clears on the day. The Maroons won 12 of the 20 draw controls and won the groundball battle 24-18.
- Claire Feeney finished with four goals and two assists for six points, while Zelnik had three goals and an assist and McCartin finished with two goals and an two assists.
