The Lead: Sixteen different Maroons scored as Roanoke topped Hollins 24-3 Thursday afternoon in ODAC Women's Lacrosse action.
 
How it Happened
  • Courtney McCartin paced RC with seven points on the day as she scored once and dished out six assists in the win.
  • McCartin was one of 10 Maroons who posted multiple points on day. Nicole Zelnik had two goals and three assists for five points, while Claire Feeney (2g, 2a), Julia Galanto (1g, 3a) and Allison Beames (3g, 1a) all had four points.
  • A Catherine Pace goal 24 seconds into the game proved to be the first of six Roanoke strikes in the first six minutes of the contest.
  • The Maroons would rattle off 10 more goals, taking a 16-0 lead into the intermission when Jenn Schwechheimer scored with just 14 seconds left on the clock.
  • Roanoke outshot Hollins 47-6 and won 17 draw controls led by Feeney who grabbed four on the day. RC won the groundball battle 30-5 as Hannah Taylor had four gb's to go along with a goal and three assists.
  • Emma Blair and Victoria Smith split time in net with Blair stopping the only two shot she saw and Smith making one save in the second-half.
