Six Maroons honored by ODAC

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their 2021 All ODAC Women's Lacrosse Teams on Wednesday morning. Six Maroons were honored as selections on the three teams.

Midfielders Lilly Blair and Emerson Foster joined defender Claire Eisenhart on the first team. On the second team were attacker Ellie Armstrong and defender Natalie Mason while Jenna Kuczo earned a third team distinction as an attacker. Armstrong, Blair, and Foster were repeat all-conference performers as each was named All ODAC after the 2019 season, there were no All ODAC awards for the 2020 campaign.

Blair was a third team selection in 2019, her freshman season, and moved up to the first team after leading the Maroons with 50 goals this season, third in the conference. The junior's 60 total points ranked fifth in the ODAC and her 38 draw controls also ranked top 10 in the league.

Foster is a repeat member of the first team after earning that honor in 2019. Her 46 goals and 55 total points both rank second on the team and fifth and eighth, respectively, in the ODAC. Foster led the conference with 80 draw controls for the season and earned ODAC Player of the Week honors for the first week of March.

Eisenhart earned first team honors in her first full season as a starter for the Maroons. The junior finished the season 10th in the ODAC with 16 caused turnovers and helped anchor a defense that was fifth in the conference in goals allowed and at 11.0 per game, third in the ODAC in goals allowed per game.

Armstrong was a first team selection after the 2019 season and was named second team this season on attack. The senior was third on the team in goals (32) and total points (39), both top 20 in the conference. Three times this season, Armstrong scored five goals in a game.

Mason made the second team as a defender. The freshman made an immediate impact on the Roanoke defense and was third on the team with 24 ground balls and fourth with 10 caused turnovers. As a team, Roanoke ranked fifth in the ODAC in both ground balls and caused turnovers while registering the fourth most clears in the league.

Kuczo earned all conference honors for the first time in her career. The senior was named ODAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for week 14. On attack, Kuczo finished the season with 17 goals and five assists while picking up 17 ground balls.
