  • Trio of Maroons Named to Academic Honor Roll
    July 22, 2022
    The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced their annual academic awards early this week. Roanoke College was one of the 285 schools, across all divisions, to be named Academic Honor Squads while three players earned a spot on the 2021 DIII Academic Honor Roll.
  • Six Maroons Honored for Academic Success

    The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced their 2022 Academic All State teams on Thursday morning. Six Maroons were honored for not only their athletic accomplishments, but for their academic success. Four of the six carry a 4.00 Grade Point Average (GPA), while the others sport a 3.974 and 3.966 gpa.
  • Roanoke Places Three on All State Teams

    The Virginia Sports Information directors (VaSID) announced their 2022 All State Women's Lacrosse teams on Thursday. The Maroons would see three earn All State honors after a season that would see Roanoke back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2009, advancing to the second round.
  • Blair Named Academic All-American

    The College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) announced their 2022 Academic All American at-large Teams on Wednesday afternoon. Roanoke College women's lacrosse Lilly Blair was named a 1st Team Academic All-American. Blair, a senior from Salem, was the only Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) female athlete to appear on the first team and was one of only two student-athletes to post a 4.00 GPA while being a multiple-major.
  • Eisenhart and Foster Named to Senior All Star Rosters

    The IWLCA has announced the rosters for the 2022 Senior All-Star games for Division I, II, and III. The players selected in each Division have been divided into two teams: North and South. 
  • All-American Honors for Blair

    The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced their NCAA DIII All-American teams on Thursday afternoon. Roanoke College senior Lilly Blair was named 2nd team All-American on attack.
  • Blair Named CoSIDA Academic All District
    May 19, 2022
    The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced their Academic All District team for the at-large sports on Thursday afternoon. Roanoke College women's lacrosse student-athlete Lilly Blair was named Academic All District by the organization. The senior will now move to the nationwide voting for the CoSIDA Academic All American team.
  • Four Maroons Earn All Region Honors

    The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced their 2022 All Region Teams on Thursday morning. After a season that would see Roanoke advance to the second round of the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament, four Maroons were named All Region by the coaches association.
  • Roanoke/Gettysburg Needs Overtime
    May 15, 2022
    After opening the 2022 NCAA Tournament with a big win, Roanoke would face the #4 team in the nation on their home field on Sunday. The Maroons faced Gettysburg with the winner advancing to the round of 16. The Maroons started off with a 3-1 first quarter and followed it up with another three-goal, second, period to take a 6-3 advantage into the half. Gettysburg closed to within a single goal, 7-6, heading into the final frame. Roanoke scored to start the fourth to make it 8-6, however, the home standing Bullets closed the game on a 2-0 run and sent the NCAA second round matchup into overtime. With 2:40 left in the first extra period, Gettysburg got free in the Roanoke zone and ended the tie and the game, 9-8.
  • Maroons Cruise to NCAA Opening Win

    The Roanoke College women’s lacrosse team made the trip to Gettysburg to open their bid to return to Kerr Stadium in late May for the Final Four of the 2022 NCAA DIII Women’s Lacrosse Tournament. The first hurdle for the Maroons would be the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Champions from Bryn Athyn. Roanoke raced out to a 10-0 advantage after one quarter of play and cruised the rest of the way, picking up a 23-4 win and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • Blair Headlines ODAC Honorees

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released their 2022 Women's Lacrosse awards on Wednesday afternoon. Roanoke College would place eight on the three all-conference teams as well as claim the Offensive Player of the Year and the Scholar Athlete of the Year.
  • Roanoke Earns Berth to NCAA Championships

    The NCAA announced the field for the 2022 NCAA DIII Women's Lacrosse National Championship tournament on Monday morning. Just as the Roanoke men experienced last night, the Roanoke women would hear their name called as an at-large selection into the Championships.
  • Maroons v. Generals for ODAC Championship

    The Roanoke women’s lacrosse team would face Washington and Lee in the Finals of the 2022 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women’s Lacrosse Tournament on Sunday afternoon. The Maroons would look to turn the tables on the Generals that defeated them in this matchup last season. The Generals scored four times in the opening quarter and built a 6-3 lead at the half. The third period would see Washington and Lee start to pull away and, in the end, the Generals had defeated the Maroons in the Championship game,11-5, for the second consecutive season.
  • Roanoke Advances to ODAC Final

    The 2022 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women’s Lacrosse Tournament started for the Maroons with a semifinal matchup with Shenandoah on Saturday afternoon. After graduating in the morning, the Maroons traveled to Lexington to face the Hornets. Roanoke used a 5-1 start to each half to put Shenandoah away and set up a rematch with Washington and Lee for the title, 13-7.
  • Season Ending Win for Roanoke

    The Roanoke women’s lacrosse team took a break from exams to make the trip to face Randolph-Macon in their final game of the 2022 regular season. The Maroons raced out to a 7-0 halftime lead and went on to pick up the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win, 16-6.
  • Shutout in Home Finale

    For the final time this season, the Roanoke women’s lacrosse team would defend the turf at Kerr Stadium as they welcomed Randolph College on Wednesday afternoon. It was the final Old Dominion athletic Conference (ODAC) home game of the regular season for a Maroon squad that is currently 2nd in the conference standings. Roanoke scored 13, first quarter, goals and cruised the rest of the way for the 25-0 victory.
  • Maroons Roll on Senior Day

    On the Saturday of the 2022 Roanoke College Alumni Weekend, the women’s lacrosse team played host to Guilford. Prior to the start, the graduating seniors were honored before a big crowd at Kerr Stadium. After the ceremony Roanoke wasted little time, scoring 13 goals in the opening period on their way to a 26-1, Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win.
  • Roanoke Pulls Away in Second Half

    The Roanoke women’s lacrosse team went on the road to face Mary Washington on Wednesday afternoon. The game with the Eagles would be the final non-conference test for a Maroon squad that received votes this week for the first time in the IWLCA Top 25 poll. The game was tied at the half before the Maroons began to edge away with a 2-0 third quarter. Roanoke built their lead to 8-3 before the home team tried to rally, but in the end, Roanoke came home with an 8-5 victory.
  • Easy Afternoon for Roanoke

    Roanoke stepped out of conference on Thursday when they hosted Meredith College at Kerr Stadium. The Maroons came into the matchup with the Avenging Angels looking to build on their current four-game win streak. Roanoke raced out to an early lead and grew their advantage to 13-3 at the half. The Maroons would keep the pressure on the Avenging Angels all afternoon long on their way to an 18-4, non-conference, victory.
  • Roanoke Cruises to ODAC Win

    Roanoke went on the road on Tuesday night for a matchup with Bridgewater. The Maroons came into the game looking to solidify their positioning near the top of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) standings while the Eagles came into the night on the outside of the top eight in the conference. Roanoke wasted little time in racing out to a 7-0 first quarter lead that grew to 13-2 at the half. The scoring slowed in the second half with Roanoke cruising to the 19-4, ODAC, win.

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their weekly award winners on Monday afternoon. Roanoke College would take both the ODAC Men's and Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week awards.
  • Second Half Surge For Roanoke

    The Roanoke College women’s lacrosse team hosted Shenandoah on Saturday afternoon. The winner would put themselves in a solid position in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) standings. Roanoke would score first by three consecutive goals by the Hornets would give the visitors a 4-2 lead after one quarter of play. After trailing, 6-5, at the half, Roanoke exploded in the second half out-scoring their guests 9-5 to close out the Hornets for the ODAC win.

    The Roanoke women’s lacrosse team welcomed the university of Lynchburg to Kerr Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. The Maroons went to Lynchburg and defeated the Hornets in a non-conference game, 10-8, on March 28th. This matchup would be for positioning within the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) standings. The game was close with Roanoke holding a 3-2 lead after one period of play. The Maroons broke the game open with a 7-2 surge over the middle quarters on their way to a 13-5, ODAC win.
  • Final Minute Goal Carries Roanoke

    The Roanoke college women’s lacrosse team traveled to New Jersey to face Farleigh Dickinson – Florham on Sunday afternoon. FDU-Florham would take a one-goal lead into the final five minutes of the contest. Roanoke would tie the game and in the final minute, the Maroons were awarded a Free position shot. Roanoke would convert the opportunity and pick up the 16-15, non-conference, win.
  • Maroons Fall in Championship Rematch

    The Roanoke women’s lacrosse team made the trip to Lexington to face the defending Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) champion Washington and Lee on Wednesday night. The Generals defeated the Maroons last spring in the ODAC Championship game and Roanoke looked to get a leg up on the 2022 ODAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament seeding. The game would be tied, 1-1, after on period of play. However, W&L used a 5-1 second to open up an advantage at the break. The Generals continued to build on their lead throughout the second half and picked up the 12-8, ODAC win.
  • Road Win For Maroons

    After picking up a non-conference win at Lynchburg on Thursday, the Maroons made the trip east to face Christopher Newport on Saturday afternoon. Roanoke would take a 7-6 lead into the half and an 11-9 edge into the fourth quarter. Four consecutive RC goals put the game away as the Maroons went on to the 15-11 victory.
  • Fourth Quarter Comeback

    The Roanoke women’s lacrosse team traveled to Lynchburg on Thursday night to take on the Hornets in the first of two meetings this spring. The game tonight was a non-conference matchup of long-time Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rivals. Lynchburg scored the first three goals of the evening with Roanoke answering to tie the game at 3-3 heading into the half. The Hornets enjoyed an 8-7, fourth quarter advantage, but the Maroons closed the game on a 3-0 run to take the game, 10-8.
  • Roanoke Rally Falls Just Short
    March 19, 2022
    Roanoke made the trip to our nation’s capital on Saturday afternoon to face Catholic. The game would be tied at half and the Cardinals would enjoy a two-goal lead heading into the final period of play. With Catholic up a pair, the Maroons would cut the deficit to a single goal with less than a minute to play. Roanoke gained control but a centering pass was intercepted with just seconds on the clock as Catholic defeated the Maroons, 13-12 .
  • York Turns Tables On Maroons
    March 13, 2022
    After returning from a Spring Break trip to Puerto Rico with a win, Roanoke was back on the turf of Kerr Stadium for a Sunday matchup with York College. The Maroons took an 7-3 lead into the half and scored to add to their advantage in the opening minutes of the second half. However, 11-straight Spartan goals would shift the tide as York went on for the 15-10 win.
  • Roanoke Women Roll in Opener

    The Roanoke women’s lacrosse team opened play in the 2022 season when they hosted Southern Virginia on Thursday night. The Maroons wasted little time in building a 15-0 halftime lead. The second half would see Roanoke control the ball for most of the 30 minutes on their way to a 19-1 victory over the Knights.
