The Lead: The Roanoke women's lacrosse team took a break from exams to make the trip to face Randolph-Macon in their final game of the 2022 regular season. The Maroons raced out to a 7-0 halftime lead and went on to pick up the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win, 16-6.   

How it Happened:

  • Libby Bowman deposited a Free Position shot into the back of the net to get the afternoon started. Molly Kasemeyer made it 2-0 before a Maddie Stopkoski to Lilly Blair score would increase the lead. Emerson Foster scored to end the first quarter with a 4-0 lead.
  • Blair added two and Bowman another as Roanoke took a 7-0 lead into the break.
  • After a Randolph-Macon score, Sydney Harrison and Kasemeyer would make it a 9-1 advantage. Blair's fourth followed by Bowman's third increased the lead and to end the period, Foster scored again and Bowman added her fourth of the afternoon to push the lead into double-digits, 13-3.
  • The final 15-minutes would be played to a 3-3 draw, but in the end, Roanoke earned their seventh ODAC win of the season, 16-6.
  • Blair and Bowman each had five goals. Stopkoski handed out two assists and in goal, Kyleigh Chickering got the win, making five saves along the way.

Up Next: Roanoke should receive a double-bye in the 2022 ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament and will await an opponent in the semifinals next Saturday.
