SALEM, Va. -- After helping the Roanoke women's lacrosse team to a 14-12 ODAC opening win, Kyleigh Chickering has been named the ODAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office. 

Kyleigh was a staple in the No. 18 Maroons' 14-12 ODAC opening win on Saturday. She played all 60 minutes in the cage making 12 saves and snagging four of Roanoke's 14 ground balls on the day. With the win, she improved to 7-1 on the season. She currently leads the ODAC in save percentage (51.9%) and goals-against average (7.41). She also ranks third in the conference in goals against (51).
