The Lead: For the first time in Roanoke College history, the Maroon wrestling team hosted a match when they welcomed Washington and Lee to the Cregger Center. The Maroons made the sizeable crowd happy with a win at the 125 division to start the evening. The Generals won the next two matches to take a 9-3 advantage. The Maroons got a pin to even the match at 9-9 after the first four weight classes. Washington and Lee would regain to advantage winning five of the final six divisions to post the 31-15 win.  

Highlights:

• In the first match of the night, Mac Cafurello fell behind 4-0 early but rallied to tie the score at 5-5 and sent the match into overtime. In the sudden death frame, Cafurello got a take down to win the opener, 7-5.
• At 149, Jarrod Pominville got a take down early and wasted little time in pinning his opponent just 58 seconds into the first period.
• Sam Francis took the mat at 184 and put his opponent to the ground in the opening period. Thomas Lamb got a reversal for the Generals and the match was tied at 2-2 after 3:00. In the second period, Francis had Lamb on the mat and pinned him for the six points, just 43 seconds into the second frame.

Up next: Roanoke will travel to Danville on Sunday, November 14^th, to compete in the Cougar Open, hosted by Averett University.
