The Lead: To wrap up their inaugural season, the Roanoke College wrestling team traveled to Lycoming College, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to compete at the 2022 NCAA Southeast Regional over the weekend. The Maroons would finish 7th out of a field of 14 while Mahlic Sallah was named Regional Champion at the 184-weight class.

RC highlights:

• 125: Mac Cafurello received a bye and then advanced to the quarterfinals with a fall over Hunter Rinehart (Messiah). A 6-4 decision in the quarters would see Cafurello face off with Samuel Braswell (Averett) in the semifinals. Braswell, 38-0 on the season, defeated Cafurello, sending Mac to the consolation bracket. After falling by decision, in the 5^th place match, Cafurello earned a sixth-place finish, securing 11 team points.
• 149: Jarrod Pominville fell, 10-4, in his opening match. In the consolation bracket, Pomminville earned a technical fall before defeating Patrick Coffron (Shenandoah). A fall in the fourth round, followed by 5-4 decision over his opponent from York put Pomminville into the 3^rd-place match. However, Pomminville would finish fourth after a fall at the hands of Hai Siu (Greensboro).
• 184: Mahlic Sallah picked up back-to-back major decisions to earn a spot in the semifinals. Sallah earned a 12-6 decision over Frank Medina (Stevens Tech), putting Mahlic in the Finals and securing a spot in the NCAA Tournament. In the finale, Sallh picked up a 7-4 decision to claim the 2022 NCAA Southeast Regional title at 184 lbs.
