The Basics:

The Lead: At the 2022 NCAA Wrestling National Tournament, Roanoke College would see their very first All-American performance at the 184 weight class. Mahlic Sallah came into the event seeded 8^th and would finish the event in 7^th place, earning All-American status.

RC highlights:

• Round 1: After a random draw, Sallah would face Edwin Morales (Bridgewater State Univ.) and advance in the Championship bracket with a 3-2 decision.
• Championship Quarterfinals: Sallah faced the #1 ranked Shane Liegal (Loras College). Liegal would send Sallah into the Consolation bracket with an 8-0 decision.
• Consolation Round 2: Sallah defeated Maguire Pecci (Univ. of Chicago) 4-2 to advance to the quarters.
• Consolation Quarterfinals: Chibueze Chukwuezi (Ithaca College) would post a 4-1 decision over Sallah, putting Mahlic in the 7^th/8^th match.
• 7^th/8^th Place Match: Sallah would earn a 7^th place finish with a 2-1 decision over Daniel Surich (The College of New Jersey).
• By finishing in the top eight at the National Tournament, Sallah earned All American honors and finishes the season ranked #10 in the country at the 184 Weight Class.
