SALEM, Va. -- After going undefeated over the weekend at the 2023 Virginia Duals, Mahlic Sallah has been named the ODAC Heavy Wrestler of the Week. The heavy category is for the 165 lbs. through 285 lbs. weight classes.

Sallah, the #1 ranked wrestler at 184 lbs. in the Southeast Region, went a perfect 4-0 over the weekend and helped the Maroons to a third-place finish in the silver bracket.

He started off on Friday with a fall over Camden County's Connor Bauman at 4:42 and followed up with a 10-2 decision over James Circle of Alvernia in the day's second match. On Saturday he opened with a 10-0 major decision shutout of Gabriel Hayes of Liberty and closed the weekend with a 24-8 tech fall over Colin Vallis of Johns Hopkins. 

The Maroons return home on Thursday, January 19 when they host Greensboro in an ODAC dual. The match with the Pride is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Cregger Center.
