The Lead: Roanoke College got the 2021-22 season off to a quick start when they hosted Greensboro College on the first day of classes. The match would remain scoreless heading into the second half when Roanoke netted their first goal of the season in the first 10 minutes of the second half. The Maroons would add another late to take the opener 2-0.

Highlights:

• Roanoke would enjoy a 4-0 shot edge in the first half but the match would go into the break scoreless.
•  Less than 10 minutes into the second half, the Maroons would put one on the board when MC Petrucelli scored off an assist by Eliza Ryan.
• Roanoke would continue to control the action over the second, 45 minutes of play, out-shooting the Pride 6-2.
• With less than 4:00 on the clock, Roanoke would seal the win with an unassisted score by Morgan O'Neill.
• In goal, Taylor Gallik went the distance and recorded the shutout.

Up next: Roanoke will host Millsaps on Saturday in the opening day of the 2021 Roanoke Invitational Showcase. The Maroons take the field at 2:00pm after the first game between Farmingdale state and the University of Lynchburg.
