The Lead: The Maroons stayed in Oneonta after defeating the Red Dragons yesterday to face Hartwick on Sunday afternoon. Roanoke got on the board quickly and added a second tally just 11 minutes into the match. Coming out of the break with a 3-0 edge, the Maroons would add three more goals in the second half to cruise to a 6-0 victory over the Hawks. Roanoke has opened the season by winning five straight matches and outscoring their opponents 20-1.

Highlights:

  • Emma Woods converted a Penalty Kick at the 7:30 mark to open the scoring for the Maroons.
  • Four minutes later, MC Petrucelli scored off a Woods assist to make it 2-0.
  • Morgan O'Neill scored her first of two goals on the afternoon off a feed from Erin Flamm to make it 3-0 at the break.
  • O'Neill struck quickly in the second half to make it 4-0. In the final 10 minutes of play, Tessa McMillan and Lily Pawliczak added unassisted scores to make it 6-0 at the final horn.
  • Carrington Lippi got the win in goal, recording three saves on the afternoon.
