The Lead: The Roanoke College women were back in the pool after the holiday break when they traveled to North Carolina to face UNC Pembroke in a dual-meet. The Maroons would win three individual events to post 112 points. However, they would fall to the Braves, 150-112, in the 14-event meet.

Women's highlights:

  • Susanna Price picked up a win in the 1000 meters, the first individual event of the afternoon, in a final time of 10:44.73. Price would add runner-up points with a 2nd place effort in the 200 Butterfly (2:14.47).
  • In the 100 Backstroke, Lily Mullens picked up a .67 win over teammate Bailey Gallagher. Mullens added another set of first place points with a time of 55.02 in the 100 Freestyle while Gallagher returned to finish runner-up (2:12.45) in the 200 Backstroke.
  • Maria Vinson would finish 2nd in back-to-back events when she posted times of 1:01.33 in the 100 Butterfly and 2:13.86 in the 200 Individual Medley (IM).
  • In the 50 Freestyle, the Roanoke duo of Hannah Petty (25.58) and Elizabeth Roberts (25.90) would finish 2nd and 3rd.
  • Grace Fountain led another 2-3 finish for the Maroons when she touched in 5:26.71 in the 500 Freestyle just ahead of teammate Rachel Garland (5:35.20).
  • In the 200 Freestyle, Hannah Zhang finished over a second clear of third place for a runner-up effort (2:05.13).
  • Roanoke would claim 2nd-place points in both the 200 Medley relay (Mullens, Vinson, Petty, and Lore Gibson) and the 400 Freestyle Relay (Mullens, Zhang, Petty, and Price).

Up next:  Roanoke will begin preparations for the four-day, Old Dominion athletic Conference (ODAC) Swim Championships, February 10-13.
