The Lead: Roanoke topped Nebraska Wesleyan 8-1 in its opening match on Friday.

How it Happened:

• Roanoke took all three doubles matches to take a quick 3-0 lead. Emily Henderson and Colette Wibaut won at No. 1 doubles, Emma Barker and Lydia Dey won 8-2 in No. 2 doubles, while Carolyn Kitsock and Tracy Kile won 8-2 at No. 3.
• Kile pushed RC's lead to 4-0 with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles, before Henderson topped Bridget McKeeson 6-3, 6-1 in No. 1 singles to clinch the math. 
• Janny Alvarado won at No. 3 singles, while Kitsock (No.4), Kile (No.5) and Nicole Rajner (No. 6) all took home singles wins.

The Lead: NC Wesleyan took five of the six singles matches to rally for a 6-3 win over Roanoke.  

How it Happened:

• Henderson and Wibaut won 8-5 at No. 1 doubles, before Lee and Madeline Herring gave RC a 2-0 lead with an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles.
• With the score 2-2, RC went back up 3-2 when Wibaut earned at 6-2, 6-3 win over NC Wesleyan's Stephany Barbera at No. 2 singles.
• The Battling Bishops would then take the remaining four singles matches to claim the win.
