The Lead: Roanoke defeated Emory & Henry 7-2 in ODAC women's tennis action Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened:
- Emily Henderson and Colette Wibaut pushed Roanoke out in front with an 8-4 win over Savanna Summers and Liz Graham.
- Lydia Dey and Emma Barker followed suit with a 8-1 victory over Lauren Riner and Kala Curtis at No. 2 doubles.
- In singles action, Catherine Lee defeated Riner 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1.
- After dropping a 6-2 set, Barker won the match at No. 3 over Summers with a 6-0, 10-8 win.
- At No. 4, Dey won 6-2, 6-4 over Katie Meade, while Madeline Herring won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 over Kaitlyn Sheaves.
- Nicole Rajner closed out the day with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Curtis at No. 6.
- For Emory & Henry, Meade and Sheaves earned the only doubles victory of the day while Graham took a 6-2, 7-5 singles win.
Up Next: Roanoke returns to action as it hosts Sweet Briar on Tuesday. Match time is slated for 4 p.m. on Elizabeth Campus.
