The Lead: Roanoke topped Shenandoah 8-1 in ODAC Women's Tennis action on Sunday afternoon in Salem.
How it Happened:
- RC jumped out to a commanding 3-0 leading by sweeping doubles. Emily Henderson and Colette Wibaut secured things at No. 1 with a 8-4 victory over Morgan Fuqua a Melodie Madison.
- Catherine Lee and Madeline Herring won at No. 2 doubles 8-4, while Carolyn Kitsock and Tracy Kile won at No. 3, 8-1.
- RC won five of the six singles matches led by a win a No. 2 from Wibaut who topped Alyssa White 6-2, 6-2.
- A 6-0, 6-1 win by Lydia Dey over Emma Crue at No. 4 clinched the win for Roanoke. Emma Barker, Madeline Herring and Janny Alvarado all won at singles as well.
Up Next: Roanoke will be in action Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at home against Bridgewater.
