HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Roanoke assumed a 2-1 lead through doubles play. Halle Fernstrum and Julia Bassett beat Emma Nesselrodt and Ryan Roeber 8-2 at the top spot, and Lia Streibich and Victoria Rios downed Malena Hoover and Grace Knighton 8-7 (7-5) at #2. The Eagles grabbed a point at #3 doubles, where Emily Daigneault and Emily Wylie triumphed over Zane Maiden and Emma Johnson by an 8-1 count.
