Meet: Finn Pincus Invitational
Location: Cregger Center | Salem, Va.
The Lead: Roanoke set a new school record as it hosted the Inaugural Finn Pincus Invitational Friday and Saturday in Salem, Va.
Highlights:
- Claire Brooks, Brynn MacDougall, Caity Ashley and Kerri Dalton set the school record in the distance medley relay with a time of 12:55.13 Friday night. The previous record was 13:11.62 set in 2012.
- Dalton followed that performance with a fifth-place showing in the women's one-mile, notching a time of 5:26.48, while Ashley finished fifth in the 3000m with a time of 10:59.12.
- Claire Aurand set a career-best with a time 8.02 in the 60m which was good for a fifth-place finish.
- Lindsey Baxter finished sixth overall in the women's 400m with a time of 1:04.09.
- Kevin Waterman placed 10th overall in the men's mile clocking in at 4:38.74.
- In the men's 5K, Howard Daniels posted a time of 16:12.29 which was good for seventh place overall, while Ellen Bauer finished fifth in the women's 5k with a time of 19:44.3.
- Dillon Kopec finished fifth overall in the men's pole vault with a mark of 3.89 despite not being able to complete the event due to injury.
- Jayna Jean-Jules took eighth-place in the women's weight throw with a mark of 12.06m.
Up Next: Roanoke will be back in action Feb. 17-18 at the Virginia Tech Challenge.
