Maroons Defeat Ferrum in Three Sets on Tuesday
FERRUM – The Roanoke College volleyball team defeated Ferrum College on the road on Tuesday evening, 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 26-24) in non-conference action. The Maroons now have a record of 2-3, while the Panthers sit with a mark of 0-2.

With the Maroons second victory of the year, Head Coach Blair Trail is now just one win away from her 250th career coaching win.

Samantha Klostermann led the team in kills with 13, followed by Macey Tyree with eight and Sarah long with seven. Alexandra Martin topped the Maroons with 13 assists, just ahead of Kayleigh Littleson with eight and Samantha Toy with six. Macey Tyree got Roanoke's top mark in digs, finishing with nine, while Mackenzie Tyree and Klostermann had six each. Macey Tyree also finished the contest with three service aces.

Ferrum was led by Jordan Link who tallied 12 kills on the evening. She was followed by Kellee Lewis, who had four. Alicia Serna led the Panthers in assists with 12, ahead of Leah Quinones who dished out nine. Jessica Turner and Quinones each finished the contest with 11 digs.

The Maroons return to action on Saturday, September 7th and Sunday, September 8th as they participate in the Greensboro College Invitational. During the tournament, Roanoke will take on Agnes Scott, William Peace, Greensboro and Guilford.
